Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A collection of A-range actuators had reached the end of their operational life after lengthy service in a challenging setting. BAE Systems needed to retain all the benefits of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators have been chosen. เกจวัดแรงดันถังออกซิเจน needed to be specifically tailored by Rotork to beat issues around confined spaces and troublesome access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes have been mechanically tailored in order that both actuator and gearbox could be manually operated without getting into the confined space. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the necessity for confined area entry.
Actuators inside the IQ range are watertight, offering ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. เกจวัดแรงดันออกซิเจน have a complicated dual stacked display with configurable information logger performance, and an absolute position sensor provides reliability and accuracy.
