The specialists from Grovetown in Georgia, USA, have developed this type collection particularly for the acute conditions encountered in onerous rock mining in mill circuits. The new MDX-850 raises the bar of the production level whereas keeping the overall operating prices, i.e. the entire value of possession, down. The impeller diameter measures 2,600 mm (102″), exceeding that of the previously largest MDX pump by 250 mm (10″).
The design options of MDX-850 include a quantity of enhancements which were made to the MDX sort sequence over the final few years. The pump width, for instance, has been enlarged to permit for improved diverter design. The impeller, too, has been reinforced in areas prone to put on. Thicker impeller vanes, forged from Gasite 28G and Endurasite, improve wear resistance and lengthen the life cycle of the pumps. MDX-850 is characterised by its enhanced interface between suction liner and suction plate, enabling using an innovatively designed wear ring on the pump inlet.
Like all MDX pumps, dimension 850 comes with an adjustable suction liner to permit changes of the clearance between the impeller nostril and suction liner from the suction facet of the pump even when the pump is operating. The MDX-850 design is appropriate with the GIW RAMSL (Remotely Adjusted Mechanical Suction Liner) know-how upgrade that makes adjustment of the clearance between the impeller nostril and suction liner fast and precise.
